Late summer’s top drinks releases

The drinks sector is amping up its new releases to maximise its late summer consumer activity. Here are a some of top products on shelves.

Kraken RTD

The Kraken Black Spiced Rum is releasing two premium Kraken RTD varieties in the Australian market this month – The Kraken & Cola and The Kraken & Dry.

Australia will be the first market in the world to introduce the Kraken RTD products, which are now available to order from wholesalers.

The premix is made in Australia and is specially formulated for the Australian palate.

The Kraken RTD will retail at $27 for a four pack and will be stocked nationwide in off premise outlets including BWS, Dan Murphy’s, IBA banners and state-based independents.

Archie Rose Distilling Co has kicked off 2020 with the launch of a 2019 Harvest Gin featuring Poorman’s orange.

This inaugural Harvest spirit is a 2019 gin that showcases Poorman’s orange, a rare and unassuming citrus, complemented by individually distilled bergamot orange peel, emerald green finger lime and lemon scented gum. 

Archie Rose Harvest Gin 2019 will be available from February 24 at great bars, independent bottle shops and as always at the Archie Rose Bar and www.archierose.com.au.

Mount Franklin is launching a new campaign to drive awareness of its commitment to packaging sustainability.

The campaign features a new label design for Mount Franklin’s popular 600ml still spring water bottle. The new label makes it clear the bottles are now made from 100% recycled plastic and features a message encouraging consumers to recycle the bottle.

The brand also has new TVC ‘Life Reincarnated’ with an Ibis voiced by comedian Dave Hughes.

LOVER Gin

Forget gin & tonics, ‘Bling & tonics’ are on the menu for Mardi Gras, with the launch of limited-edition LOVER Gin with edible 23-carat gold and silver flakes.

LOVER Gin features orange and lime botanicals, balanced by hints of juniper berries. It’s best served straight, on the rocks, or mixed with a high-quality tonic garnished with a twist of orange peel.

It’s available exclusively for $70 from all Liquorland, First Choice Liquor, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars stores nationwide.

Stonewall IPA

Brooklyn Stonewall IPA is being #pouredproudly for the first time in Australia in the lead up to Sydney Mardi Gras.

The Stonewall IPA is a 4.8% Citra hopped session style IPA. It features a hint of grapefruit and citrus peel on the nose, with a crisp yet mellow finish.

The Stonewall IPA is available nationally in both 355ml cans and on tap. Pack will be ranged nationally via Dan Murphy’s and in key independent trade.

Prepear

Prepear, a new beverage that focuses on hangover prevention, has been created by a team of Canberra entrepreneurs.

Using premium Aussie fruit and made in Sydney, Prepear is available online (www.prepeardrink.com.au) and soon to be stocked in selected stores. 

For optimal results, it should be consumed at least 30 minutes prior to alcohol.

A four-pack is priced at $24.95 and the eight-pack is $47.95.
