Archie Rose Distilling Co has launched its Canned Cocktail range – just in time for an easing of restrictions and warmer days, bringing colour, fun and flavour to summer sessions and Christmas cheer.
The four flavours are made from Archie Rose’s award-winning Signature Dry Gin and Original Vodka, just named Best Vodka in the world at the Hong Kong IWSC. The cocktails are bursting with ingredients that deliver a bar-quality experience and one standard drink in the convenience of a 200ml can.
Flavours include: Gin & Tonic with Lemon & Pepperberry; Vodka & Soda with Native Blood Lime; and two unique takes on the popular summer spritz including Gin Blackberry Spritz with Lemon Myrtle & Juniper and Vodka Mango Spritz with Lime & Chilli.
The Canned Cocktail range was created by Archie Rose’s Creative Drinks Manager, Rachelle “Rocky” Hair, one of Australia’s most acclaimed international bartenders, having done time at some of the world’s best bars in London, LA and Lebanon, including Harvard and Stone, Gwen, Super Lyan and Dandelyan,
“When we sat down to approach this project, we did so the same way we do all projects at Archie Rose – in the pursuit of the best possible flavour,” said Head of Hospitality, Harriet Leigh. “Where most canned drinks feature sugar modifiers and flavourings, our Canned Cocktails are the real deal. Made with botanical distillates just like our gins and vodkas, these drinks are real flavours encapsulated.”
Rocky has created a spin on traditional drinks like the Vodka, Lime & Soda by featuring native blood limes instead of garden variety limes. The ubiquitous G&T has been pulled back of its sugar and instead is bitter and tart with native pepperberry and the tang of lemon.
She has also created two nostalgic, redefined spritzes – the fresh, juicy Vodka Mango Spritz, energized with a hum of chilli and squeeze of lime and the Gin Blackberry Spritz given earthiness from the red berry and juniper laced inside.
“These cocktails remind the drinker of some year gone by, while being utterly modern in their approach,” said Leigh. “They are highly sessionable, and we’re really proud of them.”
