Never Never Distilling Co. has partnered with Monet in Paris, a multi-sensory art exhibition that kicked off in Brisbane earlier this month.

Set to travel the country until 2025, Monet in Paris is a 360 degree immersive experience, transporting viewers back to 19th century Paris when Monet and his fellow Impressionists were at the forefront of the Parisian art scene and Absinthe their drink of choice.

The partnership will see Never Never creating bespoke cocktails and Absinthe befitting the multi-sensory surroundings, adding taste to the cacophony of sensory experiences.

Monet in Paris is the second Australian tour produced by Grande Experiences and Andrew Kay Management after their groundbreaking Van Gogh Alive. This time around, Never Never have collaborated with Andrew Kay to create their own Australian Absinthe, authenticating the 19th-century Paris experience.

An Absinthe bar complete with frosted absinthe fountain will be home to Monet by Moonlight, a Friday night cocktail event to take place weekly with a series of live DJ sets and performances that will encourage guests to continue their Monet experience long into the evening.

Monet by Moonlight was the idea of Chris Carter, Food & Beverage Manager at Monet in Paris, who said he’s excited to see how guests explore the show and engage all five senses.

“We wanted to create an experience that appeals to guests who might not be your traditional art gallery devotees,” he said. “Monet by Moonlight will be a bubbling, exciting collection of live performance and visual spectacle, punctuated with fantastic drinks.”

Sean Baxter, Co-Founder and Brand Director at Never Never Distilling Co. said it’s a dream collaboration and exciting for the team to be surrounded by the work of some of the most influential artists of all time.

“The scale of the spectacle is the thing that blows you away first, I was very familiar with Monet’s work, but was unprepared to be so immersed in it, surrounded on every side by water lilies or performing ballerinas or wildflowers in full bloom.

“It was one of the most impressive examples of immersive artistry I’ve had the pleasure of stepping into. All set in the shadows of the famous Moulin Rouge Windmill, amidst cobblestone streets and Parisian pomp and flair, it’s simply so much fun to be a part of,” said Baxter.

Bringing the famed works of Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Cézanne, Degas and more to life, Monet in Paris’ debut season will run from June 8 – August 6, 2023 at Northshore, Brisbane, before moving to Perth from November to February, then Canberra, Adelaide, Newcastle and Sydney.
