As spring approaches there are a slew of zesty new drinks releases on the market, ranging from a Sicilian lemon gin to a new seltzer.
Following the runaway success of Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin, Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Distilled Gin has been released in Australia.
Gordon’s Pink has contributed 50% to flavoured gin growth in Australia over the past 12 months, with the new liquid added to the portfolio in response to the ongoing popularity of the sub-category.
Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Distilled Gin offers a twist on an original recipe from Alexander Gordon. Using 100% natural flavours, the recipe has been crafted to balance the juniper notes of Gordon’s with Sicilian lemons.
Available in both full-strength Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Distilled Gin 700ml serve and ready-to-drink format, Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Gin & Soda 330ml.
Five years in the making, Four Pillars is releasing its first new addition to its core range since Bloody Shiraz Gin in 2015 – Olive Leaf Gin.
Head Distiller Cam Mackenzie believes is the best gin Four Pillars has released since its original Rare Dry Gin. It’s an all-natural, savoury gin made with cold-pressed olive oil and olive leaf from three varieties of olive sourced from Four Pillars’ good friends at the world-renowned Cobram Estate. This is combined in the pot with seven other classic and uniquely Australian botanicals.
Olive Leaf Gin will be widely available throughout Australia and several international markets from September 2020. RRP: $85 per 700mL. 43.8% alcohol by volume.
The Penfolds Collection 2020 has been unveiled, including a new wine blended from four vintages of Grange, named Penfolds g4.
The blend entwines Grange DNA from the exceptional 2002, 2004, 2008 and 2016 vintages to create a completely unique expression of Penfolds flagship.
“These four Grange vintages are among our favourites of the last two decades,” Chief Winemaker Peter Gago (above) said. “All so different – in every sense, not just climatically. The synergistic blending of these vintages worked perfectly from a quality, structural and style perspective.”
Only 2500 bottles were filled, RRP $3500 each (750ml).
Barossa Valley winery Grant Burge marks its annual vintage release next month, introducing its latest range of premium red wines on August 27.
The winemaker will unveil eight reds including Icon wines 2016 Meshach Shiraz and 2016 Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the 2018 Filsell Shiraz.
The Grant Burge annual vintage release wines, including the 2016 Meshach Shiraz (RRP $229.99), 2016 Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon (RRP $114.99) and the 2018 Filsell (RRP $47.99), will be available from August 27 in major retailers and select independent stores nationally.
Also available in the 2020 vintage release is the 2017 Nebu Cabernet Shiraz (RRP $99.99), 2017 Abednego Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre (RRP $99.99), 2018 Holy Trinity Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre (RRP $47.99), 2018 Balthasar Shiraz 2018 (RRP $47.99) and Corryton Park Cabernet Sauvignon (RRP $47.99).
A new alcoholic sparkling water called Basic Babe is hitting the shelves.
The product has zero sugar and zero carbs, with only 55 calories in each 250ml can.
The crisp, full-flavoured beverage uses premium natural flavours, neutral grain spirit and purified sparkling water. It’s currently available in two variants: Watermelon and Ginger & Lime.
