Merivale has created its own takeaway delivery service that will launch across Sydney next week, creating new job opportunities for Merivale staff during COVID-19.

The delivery service will first be available at four restaurants, with Mr Wong, The Paddington/The Chicken Shop and Coogee Pavilion joining Totti’s at The Royal in the group’s takeaway portfolio.

Coinciding with the government’s decision to allow two adults to visit another household, pick up will be available at Mr. Wong and The Paddington/The Chicken Shop from 5pm today, followed by Coogee Pavilion next Monday, May 4.

Each restaurant will offer an extensive menu, alongside wine, beer and pre-batched cocktails. Further Merivale restaurants will be added to the takeaway line-up soon.

Delivery will be available from Wednesday, May 6, delivering meals from the four restaurants to homes within a 10km radius.

The service will be operated entirely by Merivale employees, who will work as ‘delivery concierges’.

Merivale Pick Up and Delivery follows the launch of Merivale at Home, a new at-home dining service that delivers almost-ready meals, drink packs and produce boxes straight to the door.

The new businesses are expected to create hundreds of employment opportunities for Merivale staff during the forced lockdown of venues and help maintain a livelihood for suppliers.

Merivale owner Justin Hemmes (above) said: “Since the restrictions were introduced, it has been our absolute priority to support our staff, while finding new ways to deliver exceptional food and drink experiences to our guests.

“These new businesses are a testament to the creativity and passion of the Merivale team; I am so proud of their determination to bring them to life and thrilled that we can still be a part of peoples’ lives, especially when they can start visiting friends and family again”.
