Visitors at The Whisky Show in 2015The 2016 Whisky Show is set to be the biggest event held in Australia on World Whisky Day this year. The show will be held on both Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May – the same day as World Whisky Day – at the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.
Now in its fifth year, the show is expected to host over 20 exhibitors, including some 50 different brands and around 150 different types of whisky from around the world to try and buy.
Hosted by World of Whisky, The Whisky Show provides one of the largest ranges of whiskies on show and available for sampling in Australia at any one time. Brand ambassadors and whisky producers will be on hand to chat about anything to do with whisky.
A free shuttle bus will be looping between Mascot Station and the Stamford Plaza. A food snack bag, whisky nosing glass, souvenir programme and water bottle will be given to all visitors.

The World of Whisky Store
Visitors to the show will not only be able to purchase the whiskies they have sampled, but also a wide range of rare and hard to find whiskies, sourced specially for the show.
Drinkers Corner
Uber Bar Tools will be presenting short training workshops in the Drinkers Corner on useful mixology techniques. Each 15 minute session will involve hands-on training for a maximum of six people per session. These free workshops are:
- The Art of Stirred Cocktails: presentation, stirring and serving technique.
- Shake and strain like a pro.
Cocktail Corner
The Exchange and Uber Bar Tools will be showcasing a variety of cocktails based around award-winning bourbons.
Masterclasses
Masterclasses will be held on Saturday 21 May in the conference rooms adjacent to the Show venue, Level 1, Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.
Kavalan Masterclass: 1.30pm to 2.30pm
Explore the range of award winning Kavalan single malts from Taiwan with Kavalan Brand Ambassador Kellie Du. The Solist Vinho Barrique was named Single Malt of the Year at the 2015 World Whisky Awards (WWA), and the Solist Amontillado was named Best Single Cask Single Malt at the 2016 WWA. Both of these fantastic whiskies will be presented at the Masterclass.
Laphroaig Masterclass: 3.00pm to 4.00pm
Dan Woolley, The Exchange Brand Ambassador, will be presenting a Laphroaig Masterclass at the 2016 Whisky Show. Explore this iconic Islay distillery, which celebrated its 200 year anniversary last year, with one of the most knowledgeable and passionate whisky specialists in Australia. Dan will present a selection of Laphroaig No Age Statement (NAS) whiskies, including the PX Cask.
Paul John Masterclass: 4.30pm to 5.30pm
Explore the range of India’s award-winning single malt distillery, Paul John, with Master Distiller Michael John Dsouza.
Bourbon Masterclass: 6.00pm to 7.00pm
Sam Snead, owner of Sam Snead’s House of Whisky in Auckland, will be presenting a Bourbon Masterclass. Sam will present some whiskies never before seen in Australia.
