Bar Patrón is dialing up International Tequila Day celebrations on July 24 with its $100 Millionaire’s Margarita.
Custom-made tableside, the cocktail begins with lime and agave being hand-pressed and shaken with a trio of super-premium and rare spirits – Patrón Gran Burdeos Extra Añejo Tequila, which is aged in Premier Cru Bordeaux barrels; 150-year old, rich and luxurious Grand Marnier Cuvée du Cent Cinquantenaire; and the ‘King of Cognac’, Remy Martin Louis XIII.
The margarita is then double strained over an ice sphere that is adorned with a shimmer of gold leaf and freckles of nitro-blasted native finger-lime pearls.
Rockpool Dining Group Beverage Director Ali Toghani said: “Our Millionaire’s Margarita is a tribute to the world’s highest quality, artisanal tequila made by Patrón, and a legacy of the alchemists and mixologists at Rockpool Dining Group.”
Overlooking Sydney’s Circular Quay, Bar Patrón offers 19 varieties of Patrón Tequila, including exclusive and limited-edition varieties, some of which are not available anywhere else in the world.
The restaurant is also offering a National Tequila Day package (priced at $120pp) available for lunch and dinner, which includes a signature Patrón margarita on arrival, a tasting flight of Patrón Roca, Silver, Reposado and Añejo, followed by a share-style menu of traditional Mexican dishes paired with wine.
Raising a glass to International Tequila Day
Every year, tequila lovers come together to raise their glasses on July 24t to toast to International Tequila Day and this year is no different with celebrations taking place across the globe and kicking off first in Australia.
Locally, Patrón will be hosting a VIP International Tequila Day event at Sydney’s iconic Museum of Contemporary Art. Focusing on the versatility of tequila, guests will enjoy a range of simply perfect cocktails from Patrón’s flagship tequila, Patrón Silver and the aged tequilas, Patrón Reposado and Patrón Añejo that will be paired to a bespoke menu. Following dinner and formalities led by Head of Patrón Asia Pacific & Middle East, Nick Cox, guests will enjoy a DJ performance by special guest and friend of the brand, Jimmy2Sox.
Patrón will also activate International Tequila Day on premise at several key venues across the country.
Sydney:
Aside from the Bar Patrón event, Patrón Tequila will have an exclusive pop up at The Bucket List in Bondi on Sunday, July 28 as well as special International Tequila Day cocktails.
Melbourne:
Tequila Bar, Benzina Cantina located in Preston, Melbourne have teamed up with Patrón and Australian Ambassador, Alejandro Archibald to host a $75pp dinner for International Tequila Day on July 24 that will pair tequila cocktails with Mexican food. Benzina Cantina will be serving a variety of cocktails including the Patrónic and Patrón Añejo Old Fashioned.
