Huxley’s has taken out the title of Best Burger at the 2018 AHA NSW Awards for Excellence.

Huxley’s is a classic New York inspired sports bar offering American diner style food with a Southern flare. It’s based in the Highfield hotel at Caringbah in Sydney’s south.

A dozen pubs from Dee Why to West Kempsey, Potts Point to Padstow were finalists in the category.

AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said although the category is only in its third year, it has rapidly become one of the most popular at the annual event.

“The pub burger revolution has kicked up a gear – they really have that ‘wow’ factor as one of the most photographed items for social media users in particular,” Whelan said.

“Competition for Best Pub Burger is hot, so pubs are regularly mixing up their range and being creative. The look is increasingly important, but at the end of the day it always comes down to taste.”

He said the Awards for Excellence were all about honouring the best in the business.

“The Awards are held to recognise the hard work and dedication which goes into running a quality hotel in NSW,” he said. “Our hotels really do set the standard for innovation and quality service.”

The team at Huxley’s accept their award.
