The bar behind the Drinks Trade cover shoot

Solera Bar was the stunning setting for the cover shoot of the Spring issue of Drinks Trade magazine.

The small neighbourhood bar is hidden on the outskirts of Barangaroo, Sydney. It’s on the first floor of a sandstone building built in 1845 for the Australian Gaslight Company.

The Drinks Trade team shot the cover on a gorgeous spring day outside the bar’s entrance, which features tracks from the old rail system that once carried coal from the wharf.

Solera offers a bespoke selection of hand crafted cocktails, craft beers and wines along with an impressive collection of fine spirits.

Within weeks of opening in 2018, the bar took out the People’s Choice in the 2018 Time Out Sydney Bar Awards.

The Drinks Trade spring issue features a gin special and tasting panel, while Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice, Gin Mare and Fentimans tonic water took centre stage for the cover shoot.

The new-look Drinks Trade magazine also includes Campari Group UK MD Brad Madigan giving his view on the latest liquor trends in Europe, plus interviews with Angus Lilley, the new global CMO of Treasury Wine Estates; and Andrew Wilsmore, the recently appointed CEO of Alcohol Beverages Australia.

Plus, there’s a bumper guide to the latest innovations in gin and the Drinks Trade tasting panel’s verdict on some of the top releases in the Australian market.

Additionally, the magazine features a 32-page Drinks Awards 2019 special. This annual event acknowledges the teams and beverage brands that have been kicking goals this year.
