The Biennale of Sydney returns in 2022 curated to showcase the works of nearly 1,900 artists from more than 100 countries.
Part of the exhibition, Galleria Campari is a purpose-built installation at The Cutaway in Barangaroo where Campari will be host a weekly series showcasing the best emerging artists and performers in Australia.
For thirteen weeks from 16 March onwards, the Art After Dark series at Galleria Campari will feature artworks and live performances and music, to inspire creativity in others.
The series has been curated by Megan Alice Clune, showcasing and highlighting the diverse landscape of the communities and Sydney music scene.
The After Dark sessions at Galleria Campari will feature a new artist every week.
“For the next 13 weeks, visitors will be able to experience a program of experimental, ambient and new classical music from both emerging and established Sydney musicians,” Ms Clune.
On Wednesday April 13, the space will feature Holly Conner, Sydney-based drummer, percussionist, and electronic music producer working across the pop & indie-rock, experimental, and free jazz music scenes. Connor’s most recent tracks feature samples of bells, gongs, traditional drums, temple blocks, and found objects; warped with effects; heightened with sparkly, celestial synths- all coming together to create a new voice in the world of percussion-meets-electronic music.
Other artists in the line up include Low Flung, Mara, Rydeen, Ilex, Del Lemanta, Wytchings, Loose-y Crunché, Bocconcini, efp, Gi and MP Hopkins. We invite attendees into the space to be seated with a drink in hand at 6pm.
Galleria Campari is also the exhibition space for Bhenji Ra’s artwork from the 22nd Biennale of Sydney ‘Kamay Kalayo (Hands of Fire)’.
