Dan Murphy’s has opened its first store in Tasmania, showcasing local producers and offering new jobs to Launceston residents.

Known for its growing production of world-class beverages, the new store will stock a collection of 38 Tasmanian spirits, 17 new Tasmanian craft beers and over 170 Tasmanian wines.

The store will also stock premium, small-batch and one-off beer products from local breweries, Moo Brew and Van Diemen, to celebrate the opening.

The Local Heroes section will feature a Whisky Precinct of exclusive Tasmanian spirits and a chilled craft beer area highlighting a host of local breweries. The store will also be home to the largest Dan Murphy’s tasting table in Australia.

On the opening, Dan Murphy’s General Manager, Campbell Stott, said, “We’re very excited to create a home for Dan Murphy’s in Tasmania for the first time. The store will offer Tasmanians the biggest range of products both from home and abroad at the lowest prices. Our expert staff can’t wait to get started.”

Twenty-three Launceston locals have been recruited to join the new team and will be trained by Dan Murphy’s Store Manager, Josh Velthoven.

Prior to the opening, Tasmanians were able to purchase products from Dan Murphy’s with only regional standard shipping option available. Launceston locals will now be able to enjoy the bricks and mortar experience, and those further afield around the Apple Isle can now enjoy metro delivery times, including next day delivery, as well as Click and Collect direct from store.
