Congratulations to Bundaberg Distillery on winning two bronze medals at the 2017 International Spirits Challenge (ISC).

The medals were awarded in the Liqueurs & Specialities division, for Bundaberg Royal Liqueur – Banana & Toffee and Salted Caramel flavours.

Now in its 22nd year, the ISC is the premier event in promoting outstanding quality spirits from across the globe. The competition is founded on a rigorous and independent judging process and receives more than 1300 entries from nearly 70 countries worldwide.

Bundaberg Royal Liqueur – Salted Caramel was launched in May last year, while Banana & Toffee was introduced in 2015 and was the first new addition to the Bundaberg Royal Liqueur range in over 50 years.

Banana & Toffee also won Silver at the the 2016 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards, presented by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria.

Bundaberg Distillery was born in 1888 and sold to Diageo in 2000.

Gin upset at the ISC

The other big news from the ISC was Aldi scooping silver for its Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin, which beat gins that cost more than twice the price.

The budget supermarket also triumphed with its Topaz Premium Gin, which also won a silver medal and beat gins by well-known brands such as Hendrick’s.

Aldi picked up four awards in total, including a silver for its Specially Selected Creme de Cassis, which has won five medals in the last year.
