Across SA, more than 200 venues are embracing U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

They all have their own unique approach to fundraising and are tailoring their events to maximise patron enjoyment.

Two such U.G.L.Y. bartenders are Judy Aldridge of the Halfway Hotel (pictured right) and Karen Ward of Hotel McLaren (pictured left). These two U.G.L.Y. rockstars are both holding U.G.L.Y. auctions in their venues on the final weekend of the campaign, and these loud, hilarious and often competitive auctions have become an annual event.

Karen’s U.G.L.Y. auction is being held on Friday 11 November at the Hotel McLaren from 6pm and will feature everything from hand-made braziers to wine, art and more. After coming in third place in SA last year, Karen’s pretty keen to go bigger and better this year!

Judy’s auction of U.G.L.Y.-ness will take place in the bistro at the Halfway Hotel from 2.30pm Sunday 13 November. A unique feature of Jude’s auction is an incredible amount of lighting which was kindly donated by a local lighting specialist, so let Judy light up your life and join her on the day.

Both these women and their venues have taken U.G.L.Y. to their hearts with Judy raising over $10,000 and Karen raising nearly $30,000 in past years.
