Bombay Sapphire Sunset is the latest special edition release from Bombay Sapphire – a new gin inspired by the mellow heat and orange glow of the setting sun.

This Special Edition release combines the ten existing signature Bombay Sapphire botanicals with an additional three – golden turmeric, Indian white cardamom, and Spanish mandarin – to create a complex and beautifully balanced gin. The aromatic winter warmer is best enjoyed as a late afternoon aperitif with one of Australia’s spectacular sunsets.

Appealing to gin fans’ thirst for exploration to discover new and exciting drinks, Bombay Sapphire Sunset is the ideal gin for cocktail creativity. This latest offering to the market provides gin lovers with an elevated option for a gin and tonic and encourages the use of garnishes such as orange and star anise.

Other suggestions are for gin fans to stir their creativity by pairing the gin with ginger ale, fresh ginger, and a squeeze of lime to create a refreshing Sunset Buck, or to take their classic Negroni to a whole new level.

This is the second gin in the brand’s series of Special Editions following the launch of Bombay Sapphire English Estate in 2019. Held at the slightly higher ABV of 43%, allowing for a heightened concentration of spices, Bombay Sapphire Sunset balances warmth from cardamom and turmeric with fresh citrus from Spanish mandarin in this delicately complex, smooth gin.

Bombay Sapphire Master of Botanicals, Ivano Tonutti hand selects each botanical to create these expertly crafted Special Editions which demonstrate the ingenuity and versatility of Bombay Sapphire.

Ivano Tonutti comments: “I have worked closely with our Master Distiller Dr Anne Brock to create a subtle combination of warming spices and citrus notes that truly enhance the complex flavour profile of Bombay Sapphire gin, providing a lingering warmth and refreshing taste.”

Every drop of Bombay Sapphire is produced at the sustainability conscious Laverstoke Mill in England, and like all Bombay Sapphire gins, the natural botanicals are suspended in copper baskets, gently infusing their aromatic flavours throughout the distillation process.

Georgina Mann, National Advocacy Manager for Bacardi-Martini Australia says: “Gin lovers will be rejoicing with this latest offering from Bombay Sapphire, as the brand continues to play with innovation and flavour as it releases its newest Special Edition, Bombay Sapphire Sunset.

“Adding three more exquisite botanicals which we’ve sustainably sourced from all over the world, Bombay Sapphire Sunset is the perfect aromatic drink this winter allowing bartenders and drinkers alike to stir their creativity with a range of inventive cocktails to take you from late afternoon into the evening. I love a classic Negroni for those aperitivo moments and Bombay Sapphire Sunset is what I’m reaching for now.”
