The Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA) has announced the finalists of the 2016 Young Liquor Retailer of the Year Award:

  • Ian Boyle, Kemenys, NSW

  • Luke Griffis, Ashfield Mall Cellars and Cutty Cellars, Crows Nest, NSW

  • James Mackay, Liquor Barons, Morley, WA

  • Rebecca Polley, BWS Stafford, QLD

  • Matt Shiner, Red Bottle Sussex St, Sydney NSW

The program was developed with the aim of stimulating young staff to further their career opportunities and is available to persons who have at least 18 months experience, with the age cut-off being 30 years.

“This award provides a fabulous national opportunity for young liquor retailers from around Australia to enter into a merit-based program and the winner will participate in the ALSA International Retail Study Tour in Europe in March 2017,” says ALSA President Giuseppe Minissale.

The winner will be announced at the 2016 ALSA Conference Gala Dinner on Wednesday 27 July at the Sheraton Grand Mirage on the Gold Coast.
