It is the tenth day on which Victoria has recorded zero new cases and zero deaths for the coronavirus. Last night, Premier Dan Andrews announced a further easing of restrictions with the promise of more changes from 11.59pm on November 22.
Last night Premier Andrews said: “To have gone from more than 700 cases a day to nine days of zero cases in a row is a particularly impressive thing and something every single Victorians should be proud of.”
Pubs and restaurants can now host up to 40 patrons inside and 70 patrons outside subject to density limits.
From November 22, restaurants, cafes, pubs and other venues will be able to host up to 100 patrons indoors so long as the four square metre rule is maintained. Outside, this increases to up to 200 people with a maximum density of one person per two square metres.
On November 22, the premier will also make announcements about a Covid-normal Christmas, hopeful that people will be able to host more than ten people to share Christmas lunch after the long, hard winter that the state has endured.
