Specialist spirits auctioneer Whisky Hammer will celebrate its 100th online auction milestone on Friday 15 March by offering various one-off incentives to both buyers and sellers.

Incentives will include waving the usual 5% seller commission charge. Instead, successful sellers will benefit from an additional 1% bonus paid on top of the hammer proceeds.

Buyers will also benefit, with successful bidders automatically entered into a £10,000 (over AUD $19,000) prize draw of Still Spirit vouchers. Ten vouches will be made available, with first place winning £5,000 (over AUD $9,500) to spend in the Still Spirits store. Buyers who bid on multiple items will receive an entry for each bottle won.

Whisky Hammer, founded eight years ago by brothers Daniel and Craig Milne, has successfully sold over 155,000 items valued at £60 million (AUD $115 million). Included in its sales was the record breaking Macallan – 1988 Refill Butt cask #4180, which sold for over AUD $2.5 million, and a 55 Year old Yamazaki, which sold for over AUD $730,000.

“Whisky has been our genuine passion from day one, and we’ve been dedicated to securing rare and hard to find whiskies for our buyers to enjoy ever since,” said Daniel Milne, co-founder and managing director of Whisky Hammer and Still Spirit.

“Thanks to our global buyer and seller customer base, we’ve been lucky enough to represent some true unicorns of the whisky world in our monthly auctions, and are so proud of what we have achieved between our very first auction to us now marking our 100th.”

Prospective sellers are being urged to submit their bottles before the auction deadline of 11 March. Whisky Hammer’s global reach of more than 220,000 buyers and the added one-off incentives of its milestone auction presents an invaluable opportunity for the sale of rare, interesting, and unique spirits.

“Bringing together whisky lovers across the globe has been a real highlight for us and we feel the 100th auction is a great milestone to give back a big “thank you” to our loyal buyers and sellers with the planned March auction perks.  Here’s to the next 8 years!”

In 2021, Whisky Hammer and sister company Still Spirits sold a 49% stake of the business to the Hong Kong investment group, Rare Whisky Holdings. Since then it has continued to establish itself as one of the world’s leading online auctioneers.
