Riesling scoops seven trophies at 2018 Barossa Wine Show

The Barossa is world famous for its Shiraz, but a riesling has scooped Best Wine at the 2018 Barossa Wine Show.

Peter Lehmann Wines 2015 Riesling took out five trophies at the show, including Most Outstanding Barossa White Wine, Most Outstanding Barossa Single Vineyard Wine and Best 2017 and older Riesling. 

Peter Lehmann Wines Senior Winemaker Tim Dolan dedicated the win to the wine’s namesake, Andrew Wigan. 

Meanwhile, while the judging panel noted “it’s classes like this (2017 Riesling) that keep us coming back to judge wine shows. Some truly beautiful examples of one of the region’s true treasures.”

Peter Lehmann also took out Best Semillon for its Peter Lehmann Wines 2012 Margaret Semillon and Best Red Wine – other varieties for its Peter Lehmann Wines 2017 Hill & Valley Tempranillo
