Wine preservation brand Coravin has announced the details of its first ever World Wine Tour, taking place worldwide over the coming May. For the tour’s inaugural year, Australia will see month-long activations in both Sydney and Melbourne.
The Tour, which will provide patrons with the opportunity to trial some of the world’s most coveted, rare and highly-regarded wines by the glass and at a reduced cost, is also taking place in select locations in France, Italy, and the UK. Australia’s leg of the tour is being hosted in partnership with Atria at The Ritz-Carlton in Melbourne and Bentley Restaurant + Bar in Sydney.
“By using Coravin to serve these wines, our guests will have the opportunity to taste a selection of famous and rare wines in pristine condition without spending hundreds or, in some instances, thousands on a bottle,” said Nick Hildebrandt, Co-Owner and Sommelier at Bentley.
“It’s a highly impressive system that we would trust to preserve even the most expensive wines on our list.”
Attendees will be able to choose from a menu featuring international wines such as the Champagne Salon ‘S’ Blanc de Blanc Brut 2013, which carries a retail price of $3800 per bottle, and the Jonata El Desafio Cabernet Sauvignon 2017. It will also feature rare Australian wines such as Bass Phillip Pinot Noir 2021 and Bass Phillip Chardonnay 2021. Each wine has been priced at roughly 50% below the expected by-the-glass cost.
“We are talking about wines that would be the envy of any serious wine collection, so it’s outstanding to see these being served in restaurants, let alone by the glass,” said Christopher Tan, Director at Bass Phillip.

New this year, the Coravin World Wine Tour has been set up as a demonstration of the Coravin wine serving system, which is the current global leader in wine preservation.
