Ray Jordan has crowned Millbrook Winery as his Winery of the Year in his Wine Guide 2020, topping off an extraordinary year for the vineyard.

Millbrook Winery is located in the historic town of Jarrahdale in Western Australia, 50 minutes south-east of Perth. The winery is situated at the picturesque Chestnut Farm, a property that backs on to the Serpentine River and is nestled among jarrah forests.

In addition to Winery of the Year, the Millbrook 2019 Regional Sauvignon Blanc (RRP $25) and the Millbrook 2018 Single Vineyard Chardonnay (RRP $35) were selected in Ray’s Top 100 Whites and Sparkling Wines.

“To be recognised across a range of wine shows with different varieties demonstrates our team’s winemaking and viticulture capabilities,” said Senior Winemaker Damian Hutton.

“The trophies for Best Fortified Wine at the Swan Valley, Best Sauvignon Blanc at Margaret River, Best Rosé at Geographe and Best Dry White Varietal for Fiano at the Wine Show of WA, show our versatility and quality across several regions.

“Our highlights for the year have been the fantastic results at the Perth Hills Wine Show with seven trophies, including the Trophy for Wine of Show for the Millbrook 2018 Estate Viognier; followed by the Trophy for Excellence in Winemaking at the Geographe Wine Show; and topped off with Winery of the Year in Ray Jordan’s Wine Guide 2020. These results demonstrate our commitment to producing only the very best wines and I thank our team for their outstanding effort.”

In his 2020 Wine Guide, Ray describes the Winery of the Year as: “Millbrook produces an extraordinary range of wines under the direction of winemaker Damian Hutton. While some of the wines are featured in this guide, there are many others offering both value and quality. Millbrook has been a consistent winner of trophies at national wine shows. Viognier and shiraz viognier are the benchmark wines, but Millbrook also produces exceptional wines from many other varieties sourced from other wine regions.

“In addition to the wines, the restaurant overlooking the vineyards and lake is one of the best in the state.”
