The team at Little Creatures has added a hoppy XPA to add to its family of signature ales – eXtra Pale Ale.

The latest beer to come out of the Little Creatures brewery in 2018, following the Extra Pale Ale Single Batch and ‘Wonder Beers’ limited-edition 18th birthday brew, the XPA designed to be appealing year-round.

Russ Gosling, Head Brewer at Little Creatures Fremantle explains that the decision to brew this style of beer was driven by the beer loving community and their increasing desire for easy drinking ales with strong hop aromas.

“Our Pale Ale is still king and continues to grow,” he said. “However, there is a growing group of beer lovers after a beer that has approachability at its core. We call it a drinker not a thinker and the best occasion for this beer is whenever you want, it is just good to drink.”

As for why it’s called “eXtra”, Gosling explained: “An XPA is really just a Pale Ale that’s dry hopped with a lower bitterness level to make it more approachable without compromising the aroma. All packaged up with the signature Little Creatures balance.

“We went a bit overboard with hops and are using a blend of Galaxy, Mosaic and Citra for the dry hop – it’s very punchy with lots of citrus character.”

Little Creatures eXtra Pale Ale will be a permanent release and is available from leading retailers around the country. It will have a RRP of $25.99/355ml 6-pack. It will also be available on tap at selected venues nationally.
