Innovative Ballarat distiller Larrikin Gin has developed a new gin designed to capture true Australian spirit and flavour.

Sunburnt Country contains 10 Australian native ingredients: roast wattleseed, lemon myrtle, lemon aspen, Kakadu Plum, native blood lime, desert lime, bush tomato, strawberry gum, Davidson’s Plum and finger lime.

The gin has been bottled at 50.7%, which is Australia’s highest recorded temperature on record – another nod by the Larrikin Gin team to Australia’s unique environment.

Despite its strength, this gin delivers a smooth finish and can be enjoyed straight with ice on a hot Australian day, or with tonic water. It also adds layers of interesting Australian flavours to any cocktail classic.

Scott Wilson-Browne of Larrikin Gin said: “With this gin there a sense of place, one that you can connect with. Running across hot sand to reach the water’s edge, letting the cold blue ocean waters slip between your toes. That soft hum of the dry, inland forest, walking between sparse ancient trees, seeking the shadiest places. Open plains, eroded landscapes, red sands –  a beautiful, sunburnt country. This is a truly Aussie spirit that captures the spirit of Australia.”

Sunburnt Country will be available from March online at www.larrikingin.com or at selected on premise outlets. RRP: $100.
