Following the successful launch of its signature Lemon flavour in August last year, Kirin Hyoketsu, Japan’s number 1 premix drinks brand, has announced the release of two new flavours to the Australian market.

Crafted using frozen natural peach/pineapple juice, vodka, and soda, the Kirin Hyoketsu’s new Peach and Pineapple canned vodka RTDs deliver an intense and slightly sweet flavour balanced by a crisp and clean finish.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Peach and Pineapple flavours to our Australian audience, bringing a taste of Japan’s finest to their gatherings and celebrations, said Penni Terrey, Brand Director RTD at Lion.

“The success of our Lemon flavour in Australia has motivated us to continue delivering innovative and refreshing ready-to-drink beverages.

“We believe these new additions will further enhance the Kirin Hyoketsu experience in Australia, building on our promise of an intense natural fruit flavour without any lingering aftertaste.”

The launch marks a significant expansion for the Japanese brand in the Australia market. Australia was the first country outside of Japan to receive their products, shining a light on both the brand’s newfound commitment to increasing its exports and on the relevancy of their products to the Australian consumer.

This relevancy is supported by IWSR’s recent look into Australia’s RTD category, which reported growth in low-calorie, high-ABV and light-and-refreshing trends.

“The RTD category is dominated by dark spirit-based drinks that have come under pressure in the face of moderation trends. This has led to the launch of more zero-sugar and soda-based variants, keeping interest in the category alive,”  said Sarah Campbell, APAC Head of Research, IWSR.

The Kirin Hyoketsu Peach and Pineapple premix drinks are canned at 6% abv with 0.7 grams of sugar and 116 calories, satiating all three of IWSR’s listed trends. The products are already available at Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market, and will later be rolled out in all good bottle shops starting from mid-March.
