Fosters has taken a swipe at the ball-tampering scandal on the eve of David Warner and Steve Smith defending the World Cup in the UK.

The pair have returned to the Australian team after a one-year ban for an incident involving Cameron Bancroft using sandpaper on the ball during a Test in South Africa.

Foster’s, the second highest selling lager in the UK, has released an ad featuring a British man making a long-distance call to Australia for some advice about beer.

Two Aussie blokes named Brad and Dan help ‘Harry from Abergavenny’ serve a beer to a snooty guest at his house.

Halfway through the ad, one of the Aussies starts rubbing some sandpaper on a cricket ball.

It follows the Barmy Army releasing photoshopped images on social media of Warner in his World Cup shirt with the word “Australia” replaced by the word “Cheats”.

The commercial by the Adam & Eve/DDB agency is a continuation of a long-running “Good Call” series that gives social advice to British men.
