Voting is now open for the GABS Can Design Awards with over 140 Australian breweries in contest this year and with creativity exceeding expectations, according the organisers who also run Australia’s premier craft beer event, the Great Australasian Beer SpecTapular (GABS).

“We are super excited to showcase all the amazing work that goes towards the “outside of the tin”. Think mythology, skeletons, cult classics, sports and everything in between! These adventurous and unique themes have inspired designers and produced some of the country’s best retail packaging!” say GABS.

Working from home makes for a perfect time to be a part of the awards. Take some time out and celebrate the best in craft brewery can designs and show you appreciation for home grown talent in both beer-making and design.

The winner of the GABS Can Design Awards will take home the coveted ‘Orora Golden Can Trophy’ and a free set of printing plates for their next print with Orora. All other finalists will receive a fantastic product innovation design and manufacture package with Opal Specialty Packaging.

The top 10 designs as voted for by the public will then go before a panel of industry brand and design experts and the winner will be announced 22 October.

Last year’s winner was the bright, magenta and pink face inverter design from Little Bang Brewery which represented how your face transforms when indulging on a super sour beverage.

For everyone that casts a vote, you’ll be entered into a draw to win a share of the $10,000 prize pool including vouchers from BoozeBud and tickets to the next GABS Festival season.

The winner of the GABS Can Design Awards, as well as runner-up designs and special mention awards, will be announced on Friday 22 October at GABS. Following the announcement, the winner will also be added to the GABS Can Design Hall of Fame on its website.
