Melbourne’s Deeds Brewing has launched a limited edition beer called All Work & No Play.
Brewed in collaboration with Tallboy and Moose, All Work & No Play is Deeds Brewing largest dry hop to date at 40g/L. At the business end of the brew, this hazy 8.5% Double IPA has pale malt, wheat malt, rolled oats, flaked wheat and flaked barley, giving a thick and stable haze. A splash of lactose ensure a creamy, light finish.
When it comes to play, the ultra dry hop gives way to a combination of Amarillo, Vic Secret, and Simcoe for a refreshing, floral citrus nose. There are hints of classic Simcoe pine and tropical fruits – perfect for the summer months.
The limited edition beer pays homage to Deeds Brewing head brewer Justin’s longstanding relationship with Tallboy’s co-founder and beer maestro, Dan Hall. Named after the always-busy summer season, All Work & No Play is the result of a long standing promise to cook up something fun together.
Justin said: “All Work & No Play is a fitting description of brewery work come the summer months, as is the insanity slowly building during that time period. All breweries feel it. Happy to be busy now that winter is over, but come mid-December, we are all secretly, desperately awaiting a small reprieve.
“I got my first taste of this intensity when I was first on the brew deck and being trained by Dan. He’s a wonderful brewer and we’ve always said we’d work together on something fun. Our first limited edition beer for October was a great reason to do just that and the result is ridiculousness in a 440mL can. It’s our largest dry hop to date and definitely one worth taking a break for.”
All Work & No Play is available in craft bars and bottle shops across Australia.
