The Wine Communicators of Australia’s (WCA) Royal Adelaide Wine & Spirits Awards Lunch, held in partnership with the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia, will be held at the Adelaide Showground on Friday, 6 October 2023.
The lunch celebrates Australian winemaking and distilling, showcasing category winners from the Royal Adelaide Wine Show and Royal Australian Spirit Awards. The top three trophy winners from the wine show and the best in show from the spirits awards will also be announced on the day. These include the:
- Max Schubert AM Trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine in Show
- George Fairbrother Memorial Trophy for Most Outstanding White Wine in Show
- Gramp Hardy Hill Smith Prize for Outstanding Wine of Provenance
- Champion Spirit of Show
Angus Barnes, Executive Chair of the WCA, said the lunch is a chance to reconnect with industry colleagues and celebrate the very best the Australia wine and spirits industries have to offer.
“This sell-out event will be biggest gathering of the wine industry in Australia this year, and we welcome our colleagues from the Royal Australian Spritis Awards as well. It’s a chance to connect with our colleagues in the industry and to celebrate excellence in wine and spirits.
“The atmosphere is convivial and the the food and wines are award winning, showcasing the best that the Royal Adelaide Wine show has to offer. Come an expereince Adelaide and catch up with friends old and new,” he said.
Attendees will have access to the Exhibitor & Trade Tasting, where they can try the 2,500 entries and 1,000 medal-winning wines from the Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
The 2023 South Australian Legend of the Vine will also be awarded during the day, a prestigious honour recognising an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Australian wine industry.
