Acting Chairman of Asahi Holdings Australia since December 2020, Mr Roland van Bommel has been appointed Chairman of Asahi Holdings Australia following the retirement of Mr Peter Margin.

One of Australia and New Zealand’s foremost beverage industry leaders, Mr van Bommel brings significant international experience to the role. His former senior executive roles include former CEO of William Grant & Sons and Maxxium Worldwide.

Operating across Australia and New Zealand with three business divisions, Asahi Lifestyle Beverages (non-alcohol), Carlton & United Breweries (alcohol) and Asahi Beverages NZ, Asahi Beverages makes and distributes some of Australia’s and NZ’s key drinks brands such as Asahi Super Dry, Carlton Draught, Victoria Bitter, Great Northern and Corona.

Asahi Beverages Australia entered a new era following the successful integration of Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) in June last year with Asahi Lifestyle Beverages and Asahi Beverages New Zealand in June last year.

“I’m honoured by the opportunity, and energised by the challenge, of leading the AHA Board and ensuring we continue to achieve our ambitious growth targets and provide great jobs for our people. Under the leadership of Group CEO Robert Iervasi and his Executive Leadership Team we’re in a very strong position,” said Mr van Bommel.

“The breadth of the Asahi Beverages business, manufacturing footprint and beverages portfolio gives us a great opportunity to deliver extraordinary results for our people, our partners, our customers, consumers and community.”

Asahi Beverages Group CEO Robert Iervasi said, “Roland’s deep understanding of our business and the broader beverages industry will ensure that we are positioned well to meet the challenges of the future.”
