A sommelier wine list coming straight to you at home

A Glass Of is founded upon a neat concept. Every season, A Glass Of partners with an award-winning Australian sommelier who curates a collection of wines. But the wines are not delivered in bottles, rather you receive a little more than a glass of wine in each pouch and there are five wines in each collection.

Founder Paul Taylor said, “We wanted to try new and interesting wines, understand a bit about who made them and why, and help support independent winemakers. But that gets really expensive, really quickly when you start paying $30 or $40 for a bottle only to discover you don’t like it.”

Wines from A Glass Of support local industry – sommeliers and winemakers – keep you informed in an affordable way and the pouches are environmentally friendly. Over the past year, Australia’s Jacqueline Turner of Margaret Double Bay and Gabrielle Webster of Icebergs Dining Room & Bar have curated A Glass Of editions.

This summer, award-winning Shell House sommelier, (ex-Rockpool, Quay and Aria) Alex Kirkwood has partnered with A Glass Of and handpicked wines produced by five of the best winemakers in Australia.

A Glass of x Alex Kirkwood includes:

  • Breaking Ground Semillon (2022), Broke Fordwich NSW
  • Mada Pinot Gris (2022), Hilltops NSW
  • Maker Master Merchant Organic Rosé (2022), Central Ranges
  • Harrison Grenache (2022), Barossa Valley, SA
  • Agóri Montepulciano Nero d’Avola (2022),  Riverland, SA

This is what Kirkwood says about the Agóri Montepulciano Nero d’Avola (2022),  Riverland, SA:

The Winemaker

‘I have loved watching Travis’ pursuit of his vinous highs, and a shared love for certain styles of wines has kept the interest alive for many years. Travis Tausend puts his heart and soul into his wines with the emotion, intuition and energy that ensures his wines will always be different. He is the very definition of a small-batch winemaker, and the industry is better for it.’

The Wine

An Italian blend dominated by juicy, black fruit, big berry compote, savoury leather and florals on the nose with a medium bodied, slippery, full-flavoured palate with bright acidity. The tannins are fine and drying, making this a very moreish wine. Muffuletta sandwich.

It’s basically like having one of Australia’s best sommelier at the kitchen bench with you.

The A Glass of® x Alex Kirkwood wine list tasting experience is available from aglassof.com for just $45.00 and is delivered to doors across the country from today.
