Taylors Wines has upgraded the packaging r its carbon neutral wine in an attempt to make the bottle even more sustainable than before. The 80 Acres range became the world’s first 100 per cent carbon beutral wine when it was launched in 2009

80 Acres range – the world’s first 100 per cent carbon neutral wine – to make the bottle even more sustainable than before. Not only is the label now made from recycled and alternative materials, but in a new move, the South Australian company has also decided to donate five per cent of the profits made from the 80 Acres range to environmental initiatives.

80 Acres confirmed their environmental influence outlook in 2009 when they became the world’s first 100 per cent carbon neutral wine range, completing a Life Cycle Assessment accounting for each step in the wine making process beginning with grape-growing to production, bottling with LEAN+GREEN™ environmentally friendly glass, consumption and disposal.

The new label recently hit shelves nationally and is reportedly receiving positive uptake in retail. Instead of the signature black Stelvin® screw cap, you’ll find they have embedded the environmental impact on shelves with a deep green cap.

The paper for the label has been made in a completely carbon neutral process and for every 1,000 labels printed, the Trees for Land project will plant one tree.

Taylors Wines will continue to work with the Australian not-for-profit organisation Carbon Neutral and collaborate with other environmental projects in their pursuit to entirely eliminate the carbon emitted across the 80 Acres range from production to consumption.
