The search for the 2016 Woodford Reserve Australia Cocktail Competition champion has begun. The event has grown considerably in size and popularity, following the successful launch of the competition in 2015, which was ultimately won by Thalita Alves.
Bartenders can currently enter the competition by submitting their details and two cocktail recipes, both showcasing their skill and experience, via a dedicated online portal. Recipe 1 must be an original and creative cocktail that showcases the flavour profile of any Woodford Reserve product. For recipe 2, bartenders must create a cocktail that showcases their interpretation of the classic ‘Old Fashioned’, utilising Woodford Reserve.
Selected bartenders will proceed to a regional event before moving onto a state final in October/November. The bartenders that win their respective state final will head to the National Final in Melbourne at the start of December to determine the 2016 Woodford Reserve Australia Cocktail champion.
The Major Prize Winner will win a trip to the United States to attend the Woodford Reserve Manhattan Experience U.S Final, valued up to AUD$11,500.
The total prize pool value for the 2016 Woodford Reserve Australia Cocktail Competition is AUD$20,000.
Registration ends Friday 19 August. Successful applicants will be notified on Friday 26 August.
