Rhianne Lewis of Hamilton’s Grand Central Hotel participated in the 2014 U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year campaign, having such a fantastic time she’s signed up again!

The town of Hamilton, the community and patrons, along with her work colleagues really got behind fundraising efforts and were so supportive of raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

“It’s such a great cause and loads of fun; I just had to sign up again in 2015.  When I registered I wanted to raise $5,000 but have since decided that I want to better last year and my personal goal is now $10,000.  I have ongoing fundraising ideas such as donation tins on the bar, balance a $1 coin on a lemon and also selling Cadbury chocolate boxes.

“I’ve been visiting local stores around town collecting donations and items so I can auction them off.  Everyone has been very kind and I thanked them so much – altogether I’ve received nearly $2,000 worth of items to sell!  This is so much more than I ever hoped for. There are plenty of ideas that are up and coming but not in full force yet.

The U.G.L.Y. Campaign is such a great cause, I believe every little bit of money I raise is helping people with blood cancer when they need it most”, said Rhianne.
