Initially available as a “Flights of Fancy” exercise in speciality kegs, before being produced in 500ml bottles, Taco Beer, the Melbourne produced brainchild of Two Birds Brewery, is now available in 300ml/4packs with an extended consumer off-premise retail push.

The fresh and fruity beer was inspired by head brewer Jayne Lewis and co-founder Danielle Allen’s, travels to the USA, where they decided to brew a beer incorporating all the ingredients used in their favourite food of the trip: tacos.

A zesty mix of hoppy wheat ale, corn, coriander leaf and fresh lime peel, the beer has been featured as an entry in the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular in 2013, where it won 6th place in the ‘People’s Choice’ category of the festival and sparked a social media campaign to #releasethetaco.

Recently the beer also was awarded Gold at the Australian International Beer Awards as well as Champion Speciality Beer at the inaugural Craft Beer Industry Awards.

Taco is the first wide specialty release of the continuing “Flights of Fancy” range, a selection of beers aiming to push brewing boundaries through the use of unusual flavour combinations.
