Inspired by the Tooheys brothers’ first brewery, Darling Pale Ale is the newest release from the brand, now offering consumers an easy drinking style beer alongside Tooheys New, Old Dark Ale and Extra Dry.

Purchased in 1872, Darling Brewery was where John Thomas Toohey and James Mathew Toohey brewed their first beer – Tooheys Black Old Ale, known today as Tooheys Old Dark Ale.

While making reference to the brewery’s heritage, Darling Pale Ale also marks the rising trend in production of lighter styles of beer. Not only are such styles growing in popularity among drinkers, but brewers are also expecting easy drinking styles to attract new consumers to the category, particularly females.

Tooheys Darling Pale Ale has a fruity hop aroma and a mild bitterness on the palate, balanced by malted barley and wheat. The new bottle also features a re-branded design, which is currently being rolled out across the Tooheys portfolio. The refreshed look gives the beers a more premium feel and features the brothers’ signature.

The new brew is available in 375ml bottles, six-packs and 24-pack cartons. Tooheys is distributed by Lion – Beer, Spirits & Wine Australia.
