Time to go bush and drink wine

December 17, 2020
By Melissa Parker

I’m goin’ up the country, babe, don’t you wanna go?

I’m goin’ to some place where I’ve never been before

I’m going, I’m going where the water tastes like wine

We can jump in the water, stay drunk all the time

I’m gonna leave this city, got to get away

All this fussing and fighting, man, you know I sure can’t stay

Penned in 1968 and prophesying Australian sentiment 52 years later, the lyrics of Canned Heat couldn’t be more relevant. Now has never been a better time to leave the city, go bush and drink wine. Go forth people, raise a glass of excellent Australian wine and toast to resilience and putting 2020 firmly behind us at one of these iconic Australian cellar doors.

The Wine Room is offering seated tastings through wine flights including aged and limited release vintages, either self-guided or with a member of the team to answer your questions. Best of all, if you buy the wine, you get the tasting free. Counter tastings are also available with physical distancing guidelines in place. Delicious platters are on offer to pair with your wine of choice, or you can embrace the alfresco space and grab a rug and take your bottle out into the stunning manicured gardens of the estate for a picnic.
