The Gospel Amaro

Summertime means Amaro aperitivo time

Today The Gospel announce the launch of their Melbourne made Fresh Orange Amaro, under sub-label The Dispensary.

Inspired by classic Italian bitters recipes but with a local Melbourne twist, Fresh Orange Amaro was blended by distillery staff with the intention of being consumed on hot summer days as a spritzed aperitivo, signalling that the day is fading but the night is still ahead.

“You could say Rye Whiskey is our first love, but seriously, who doesn’t love a spritz in the park on a sunny Melbourne afternoon?” says Andrew Fitzgerald, Co-Founder of The Gospel.

A deep citrus nose softened with floral notes and fresh fruit sweetness, Fresh Orange Amaro embodies Australian summertime. It is the perfect base for a refreshing and bubbly spritz cocktail, or simply served tall with soda water and an orange wedge.

For a slightly boozier cocktail, it pairs well with The Gospel Straight Rye Whiskey in a Boulevardier. It also adds extra depth to a Negroni – simply use Fresh Orange Amaro in place of Campari.

The Dispensary is a series of spirits made by and for The Gospel staff, and is complementary to or built from their 100% Australian Rye Whiskey. What started as an in-house flavour experiment, distilling for themselves and their weekend cocktails, has now been made available for everyone to enjoy.

The aromatic Fresh Orange Amaro is the first drink released under The Dispensary. Limited to 120 bottles with an RRP of $33 for 500ml, it will be exclusively available on The Gospel distillery website from Friday, 11 December at 8.30am.

The release will join the brand’s core range, Solera Rye and Straight Rye Whiskey. The Dispensary series follows their sold out first Single Cask Release, Barrel #35, and first Project Release, Tawny Cask.
