Colombian rum brand, Dictador is now available in Australia through SouthTrade International.

The range available to the Australian market includes the Dictador 12 Years Old Solera System Rum, Dictador 20 Years Old Solera System Rum and DictadorXO Insolent Solera System Rum.

Dictador is named after the Spanish dictator, Severo Arango y Ferro, who was an important trader of exotic sugar cane distils in Colombia in the second part of the 18^th Century. Later, in 1913, following Severo Arango y Ferro’s passion and love for rum, Don Julio Arango y Parra – a descendant of Severo Arango y Ferro, established Destileria Colombiana, where Dictador rum continues to be produced today.

All three rums are made from virgin sugar cane honey and aged in oak barrels, offering a range of rich and complex, premium aged rums, with predominant caramel and honey notes. More specifically, the Dictador 20 Years Old Solera System Rum is the world’s most awarded rum and received double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America in 2012.
