New Zealand’s artisan gin producer, Lighthouse Gin – a subsidiary of Foley Family Wines – has announced that Déjà Vu Wine Company will begin distributing the brand to Australia’s eastern states from July 2015.

The extension comes at a time when the Australian market appears to be growing in demand for boutique gins, marked by a number of releases over the last six months and another expected shortly from championed small batch producer, Four Pillars.

“With the interest in small batch premium spirits and the revival in gin, it is a perfect time to bring Lighthouse Gin to the Australian market”, says Déjà Vu Director, Andrew Cameron.

Lighthouse Gin, handcrafted in Martinborough, is produced using botanicals such as hand-zested naval oranges, yen ben lemons and a number of other native additions.

Double distilled in a 200 litre copper pot still, each batch can be expected to hold its own subtle variations in flavour, while remaining within the standardised Lighthouse style.

David Stevenson of Foley Family Wines says the company is excited to be partnering with Déjà Vu on Lighthouse.

“[Déjà Vu’s] strong on-premise relationships and premium product focus, provides us an excellent opportunity to establish the brand in Australia”, Mr. Stevenson concluded.
