Melbourne independent boutique gin producer Patient Wolf Distilling Co has won the Trophy for Best London Dry Gin for its Summer Thyme Gin at the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition 2019.
The trophy winner was judged from the 40 entries that achieved Gold from 10 countries.
Another Aussie distiller, Never Never Distilling Co, took out Gold for its Southern Strength Gin in the London Dry Gin category.
Head Distiller at Patient Wolf Dave Irwin said: “It’s a great feeling to have our hard work recognised in such a prestigious competition. Our Summer Thyme Gin is very popular among bartenders and our customers, and this award just confirms why.”
The Summer Thyme Gin is created with fresh thyme and lemon vapour infused in Patient Wolf’s custom-made Müller copper still.
The gin is 41.5% ABV and RRP $75 at Patient Wolf online; Patient Wolf Distillery and Bar and a variety of independent bottle shops across Australia.
Patient Wolf Southbank Distillery & Bar opening update
Patient Wolf was named for its founders’ calm, considered, meticulous approach to the making of their award-winning gin.
The founders say same patient precision has been applied to the completion of their new distillery and bar in Southbank, Melbourne.
Due to open some weeks ago, perfecting the final touches of the venue and production facility is taking longer than expected.
The industrial warehouse in Market Street, an inner-city side street which straddles the Southbank and South Melbourne border will become home to the largest independent distillery in Victoria.
