New releases: drinks imports & Queensland-only beer

Three new drinks imports have arrived on Aussie shores, while Lion has created a special new XXXX just for its northern fans.

XXXX is launching of XXXX DRY, a new easy drinking full strength (4.2%) lager brewed at the Castlemaine Brewery in Milton.   ­

XXXX DRY will launch on tap in selected venues in Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 330ml bottles to follow from April 20.

The brand has no plans at this stage to take the beer south.

Queenslanders can enjoy a case for RRP $47 and $19 per six pack.

Sapporo Black is being launched into the Australian market this month.

Brewed using roasted dark malts that provide distinct coffee and chocolate notes, Sapporo Black is being imported to Australia and distributed by Coopers Premium Beverages.

Sapporo Black has a 5% ABV and will be available in the traditional Sapporo 650ml “silver bullet” style can.

Cans will be available from most liquor outlets at around $8 each.

Noble Spirits has brought Black Tears, the first spiced Cuban rum on the global market, to Australia.

Its blend is made up of coffee, cacao and ají dulce, a variety of small sweet peppers.

The Cuban rum is available for pre-order at $53-LUC.
