The Australian Wine List of the Year Awards will now be held on the new date of Monday, 29 November.
The awards received a record number of entries this year and winners will be announced at the event and published two days later in Qantas Magazine and online at Travel Insider. Qantas Magazine joined the event as the major sponsor for the first time this year.
The Wine List Awards include a new consumer award this year, Australia’s Choice Award. Thousands of votes have been received so far with people grateful for the opportunity to support their favourite venues. Voting for this award has been extended until Sunday, 31 October.
Chairman and founder of the awards, Rob Hirst, said, “Our outstanding panel of judges is working their way through the record number of entries this year and have been blown away with the continuing standard plus the creativity and skill of sommeliers and owners – particularly where they have had to manage smaller, scaled down lists – as evidenced by the number of lists entered this year in the new ‘Best List under 200 wines’ categories.
Drinks Trade is the official trade media partner of the event and will provide an update on where the event will take place in the coming weeks.
