Milpa’s exclusive cocktail for Sydney WorldPride

Milpa Collective launched its signature Sydney WorldPride cocktail over the weekend. The Don’t Call Me Mamacita’ Cocktail was created in collaboration with drag sweetheart Victoria Mami – the face of the new cocktail – and is available in selected venues – Calita, La Palma, Santa Catarina, Londres 126 and Bar Lucia. Proceeds from the salesgo towards supporting LGBTQIA+ organisation Twenty10 with $2 from every drink donated.

The partnership with Twenty10 sparked from Milpa Collective’s desire to give back to the community and raise funds for causes at the heart of Sydney WorldPride as well as being a reminder to what really matters during all the colourful celebrations. Connecting with and creating community engagement is important in recognising those that have supported Milpa Collective venues.

Milpa Collective Founders Pablo Vargas and Liber Osorio add, “We want to use our reach to spread awareness of the amazing work that Twenty10 does for LGTBQIA+ youth and encourage donations. In doing so, Milpa Collective is extremely honoured to assist in working toward inspiring inclusion and love in the community and we hope the sales of the cocktail can make a big impact.”

Twenty10 works with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, questioning, queer, asexual and more, LGBTIQA+ people and others of diverse genders and sexualities, their families and communities. They provide a broad range of specialised services for young people aged 12-25 including housing, mental health, counselling and social support.

Chief Executive Officer of Twenty10 Jain Moralee said: “Community fundraising means so much to Twenty10, and all funds raised will go directly towards our support programs for LGBTIQA+ people in NSW. It’s a great opportunity for folks celebrating this Mardi Gras and Sydney WorldPride season to make a difference and help Twenty10 create opportunities for young people long after the party wraps up!
