W Hotels’ kinda town, Melbourne is. W Hotels Worldwide opens the doors to its first luxury lifestyle hotel in Melbourne’s Flinders Lane.

Much like Melbourne’s vibe, W Hotels, part of Marriot International, was born from the bold attitude and 24/7 culture of New York City and it has disrupted and redefined the hospitality scene for over two decades representing energy, inspiration and encouraging a sense of discovery.

Flinders Lane is the epicentre of Melbourne’s iconic laneway culture and eclectic food, bar and fashion scene, the perfect fit for W’s first Melbourne hotel.

With a cool and edgy design by Hachem and inspired by Melbourne’s streetscapes and laneways, the new hotel features 294 guest rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows revealing breathtaking views of Melbourne’s skyline and 29 suites. The 175 square metre Extreme Wow Suite on the highest the Level 15 is the W’s version of the presidential suite complete with expansive balcony and interactive music station – a modern take on the old jukebox.

As for the food and drink offering, there are four bars and restaurants to choose from including Lollo under direction of celebrated Melbourne chef, Adam D’Sylva, a cocktail bar called Curious, intimate Japanese dining at Warabi and the fabulous Culprit paying homage to Melbourne’s world-renowned café culture set to open in May.

“It was a natural choice for us to launch our second W hotel in Australia in one of the world’s most culturally diverse cities,” said Sean Hunt, Area Vice President, Marriott International. “With its bold style, energizing nightlife and great appetite for what’s new and next, Melbourne is a brilliant new addition to our luxury portfolio, and solidifies our confidence in the travel recovery here in Australia.”

“W Hotels is a perfect fit for Melbourne with its 24/7 energy and design, music and fashion in the brand’s DNA,” says Damon Page, General Manager. “I am so excited to be part of the fab team responsible for bringing this iconic brand to one of the world’s great cities. We will showcase everything from our Whatever/Whenever service promise, our four vibrant bars and restaurants to epic music programming and next level happenings.”
