McWilliam’s Wines has made its debut appearance on The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands just one year after the winery was purchased by its Riverina neighbours, Calabria Family Wine Group.

McWilliams says that it shows the partnership between the two family wineries is off to a promising start.

Sixth-generation Global Brand Ambassador Scott McWilliam said, “For McWilliam’s Wines to earn a spot among the most respected wineries in the world is a testament to our perseverance, rich heritage, and unique partnership that we have formed with Calabria Family Wines.”

This list is published by Drinks International and in this, its twelfth year, Spanish producer Familia Torres retained its crown this year with Penfolds the runner up – as well as being named the most respected brand in Australiasia – and 19 Crimes coming in at 18, Henschke at 21, Yellow Tail at 24 and Yalumba at 33.

The list is voted for by an academy of leading wine buyers, sommeliers, wholesalers, bar owners, Masters of Wine from six continents around the world.
