The inaugural Australian Cocktail Month launches on Saturday, 1 May in seventy-two venues across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

“I am excited to launch Australian Cocktail Month and give consumers the chance to try amazing cocktails created by some of the country’s best bars. I’m also proud to provide assistance to the industry as they rebuild following the pandemic,” said event curator and the aptly named, Penny Sippe.

Sippe has worked tirelessly these past twelve months to create partnerships with eighty leading local and international alcohol brands with a view to bringing the country’s bar industry back to life after their annus horribilis.

The concept has been well received by bartenders and bars across the country, all eager to welcome patrons back to the bar to connect and celebrate.

Award-winning Black Pearl in Melbourne is just one of the venues participating in the event and owner Tash Conte said: “Now more than ever, our industry needs a diverse platform that drives consumers back into the bars that have supported brands, hosted our patrons and created spaces and memories. This platform is what we need now to mend and move forward.”

A twenty dollar ticket will unlock unique bar experiences for consumers and let them try , cocktails especially crafted for the event. The cocktail menu will be available at participating venues, with cocktails priced at $14, and non-alcoholic options at $10. Tickets are available for purchase here and can be used at any participating venue throughout May.
