Ahead of its 21st birthday, Lion has announced a $30 million redevelopment of Little Creatures in Fremantle.

A new venue to be built adjacent to the original brewery, right on the waterfront of Fremantle Harbour at 42 Mews Road, currently occupied by Joe’s Fish Stack (pictured below).

The project is designed to house the Little Creatures’ brewery and Great Hall with plans for a rooftop terrace to extend right to the waterfront, subject to approval.

Little Creatures’ Head of Hospitality Mark Pearn told the West Australian newspaper that the new site will open in 2023 and accommodate up to 2,000 guests.

“This investment really just underscores our belief in Little Creatures – the preeminent name in modern Australian craft brewing,” Pearn said.

“Little Creatures Fremantle is already a ‘must visit’ tourist attraction, with up to a million visitors a year…

“Fremantle is the heart of Little Creatures and it always will be. We are committed to Freo and we are very excited about what this investment will mean not just for Little Creatures, but the wider precinct.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise disruption for our guests during the construction phase.”
