Pub baron Arthur Laundy has added the famous Bells Hotel at Woolloomooloo to his extensive portfolio.

The pub was purchased prior to auction from the Miles family for around $15 million.

Laundy Hotels’ portfolio includes the adjacent Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel, Woolwich Pier Hotel and the Quarrymans Hotel in Pyrmont.

In October, Laundy Hotels announced it will build a pub and brewery at Sydney Olympic Park with the Cottle family.

The $45 million venue will be located at Sydney Business Park and is set to open in February 2019.

“People from all over Sydney will be attracted to this precinct,” said Laundy. “It will become a vibrant, stylish and sophisticated new hospitality venue and function centre which is a much needed amenity in Sydney’s rapidly growing western communities.”

The 5,900sqm facility will include a bistro, bars, gaming room, function centre, outdoor sports lounge and TAB facilities. The two-storey brewery will allow guests to taste beers on-site and observe the brewing process.
