Innocent Bystander swaps grapes for apples

Yarra Valley wine producer Innocent Bystander has marked the beginning of the Aussie summer by launching a new cider in collaboration with their neighbours Hargreaves Hill Brewing.

Getting creative in the perfect middle ground between wine and beer, Innocent Bystander and Hargreaves Hill Brewing have combined their drink-making forces to craft a winning summer tipple: Real Apple Cider.

Real Apple Cider is crafted with fresh Victorian Pink Lady apples and fermented using a select strain of Champagne yeast creating an aromatic yet bone-dry flavour profile. Refreshing, delicious and bursting with freshness, it has picnics, beach trips, backyard barbecues, and work knock-off drinks written all over it.

Keeping its carbon footprint to a minimum, Real Apple Cider is available in 375ml cans and on keg. Find it in select bars and independent retailers throughout Victoria, plus at both the Hargreaves Hill and Innocent Bystander cellar doors in the Yarra Valley.

This is the second time Innocent Bystander has collaborated with Hargreaves Hill Brewing. In 2019, they created Likely Suspect, a beer for wine and beer lovers alike: a Belgian-style wheat beer, aged in Innocent Bystander chardonnay barrels and topped off with a generous dose of Innocent Bystander Rosé.

Innocent Bystander has a long-standing history of creative collaborations and partnerships, from working with the team at Circus Oz to create wine-laden circus performances, to developing a series of wine-infused premium chocolates with Melbourne Cocoa.
