Cricket Australia is hoping to emulate the success of Victoria Racing Club’s The Birdcage over summer with The Boundary Social.

Cricket fans in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will enjoy exclusive viewing decks, with premium views of the cricket, a private bar and gourmet grazing menus, will be on offer for fans at Test matches at the MCG and SCG.

It follows the success of The Boundary Social at the Gabba.

“It’s kind of like Birdcage meets the cricket,” said Erin Holland, who will present for Channel 7 throughout the summer of cricket, told the Courier Mail.

“Cricket is really a social game. Particularly with those Test matches when you are there all day for several days.

It follows the Pool Deck being a hit with fans since it was installed at the Gabba for the 2016-17 summer.

“That was really successful so it’s about coming up with a new experience. Australia is pioneering the way we watch cricket,” said Holland.

Cricket Australia Executive General Manager Fan Engagement Anthony Everard said it was important to continue to create a great experience for fans.

“The Boundary Social gives cricket lovers and event goers an exclusive viewing experience built within the stadium, and I’ve got no doubt it’ll be the new place to be this summer,” he said.

“Creating an atmosphere for fans to watch the cricket in new and innovative ways has been our goal for many years now, and The Boundary Social takes this experience to a new level with bay takeovers at some of the best stadiums in the world.

“It’ll offer the same brilliant views as we’ve had in previous years, but the sheer size and atmosphere The Boundary Social will create in Melbourne, Sydney is really exciting for our fans.

“The extended space makes it the perfect spot to spend time with friends, and best of all, the perfect places to watch International cricket.”
