Hennessy’s MyWay Cocktail Challenge launches in ANZ for first time

Moët Hennessy has announced it will be bringing its Hennessy MyWay Global Cocktail Challenge to Australia and New Zealand for the first time in the event’s history. 

Hennessy MyWay is a free-to-enter global cocktail competition that seeks to uncover the world’s finest and most sustainable Hennessy-based cocktails, accentuated by distinctive service rituals. To be eligible, entrants must publish a video in accordance with the event’s rules using the #HennessyMyWay hashtag on Instagram or WeChat prior to May 31.

“You’ll be challenged to create a sustainable Hennessy cocktail that has a memorable service ritual,” said Jordan Bushell, Hennessy’s Global Brand Ambassador, in an online video launching the 2024 competition

“Remember, sustainability has many different looks in many different places: show us what it means to you, your bar, or your community.”

A cash prize of €1000 (more than AUD $1650) will be awarded to the competition’s top 50 finalists for 2024. The top 10 will also be invited to Paris and Cognac to compete in the live final in October using some of Hennessy’s rarest cognac blends. 

“The website has all the rules and regulations along with what the judges are looking for, so go through it before entering,” said Bushell.

To launch MyWay in Australia and New Zealand, Jordan Bushell will be hosting a series of events and masterclasses in partnership with ANZ ambassador Alex Zanarini from April 15 to April 22. These events will explore elements of the competition, such as how to champion local ingredients, methods and sustainability, along with advice on demonstrating unique service rituals. Each of the events will also provide participants with a Hennessy cocktail on arrival and the opportunity to trial Hennessy’s Very Special, V.S.O.P Privilege, and X.O brandies. 

Details for the five masterclasses are as followed:

  • 12:30-2:30pm Monday 15 April, Tommy’s Champagne Parlour, Seafarers, Auckland
  • 1:00-3:00pm Tuesday 16 April, The Gresham, Brisbane
  • 12:30-2:30pm Wednesday 17 April, Pearl Diver, Melbourne
  • 1:00-3:00pm Friday 19 April, The Leederville Hotel, Perth
  • 12:30-2:30pm Monday 22 April, The Emerald Room, Sydney
